Lifesaver: Chamomile Calms Anxiety

Thou chamomile has long been known to have calming properties, this study is the first double-blind, placebo-controlled study of chamomile and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). When people with GAD were given either chamomile extract or a placebo, the ones given the chamomile had significantly greater improvement on the Hamilton Anxiety scale. The chamomile was very safe, producing even fewer side effects than the placebo (J Clin Psychopharmacol 2009;29:378-82).
